You want to give your customers something they will appreciate as a promotional gift. You want to give them something that does not look cheap, but is not going to cost your company too much. You want your company to show your customers that they matter and that you want their business. In addition, you need to bring more customers in so that you can keep making money. It is very important that you balance it right so that you can not only show customers you appreciate them with a good promotional item, but which is not going to cost you too much.
Beer mugs are perfect gifts for your customers because they are not too expensive, but they are a unique gift for your customers that they will appreciate. Everyone likes to enjoy a beer but not everyone wants to drink it out of a bottle. That is where something like mugs comes into play. Beer mugs are gifts that will cost you very little, but they have plenty of upside thanks to the ample space to put your company name and logo on. Often, companies will have to put their company name and logo on something small, like a pen or shot glass, but this does not warrant itself to be easily seen, or it may just be passed over. Beer mugs have plenty of space to put your company name and logo on it without making it seem like that is all the glass is.
When it is a hot summer evening, your customer will want to sit back and enjoy a beer. They can drink from a bottle, or they can grab a nice mug from the freezer, pour the beer into the mug and enjoy. Now, if they are drinking the beer from a mug in front of friends, then they are not only advertising your company to themselves, but to their friends as well.
Beer mugs are wonderful promotional gifts that you can give to your customers for a number of reasons. These reasons include:
1. The customer has bought a certain amount from you in a day.
2. You want to reward your loyal customers with personalized beer mugs.
3. You are having a sale that has discounts on items, as well as providing promotional gifts like beer mugs.
4. You want to entice new customers to come into your business.

Have you ever thought of fashioning your own custom monogrammed beer mug to give them an extra attractive edge? Monogrammed beer mugs make wonderful gift ideas for those who love drinking beer and appreciate the actual vessels. If you can set a whole afternoon aside, rope in friends or family members to make this a special communal project. Supplies can be easily found at your local hobby shops, and your work-of-art will be immensely enjoyed by your favorite beer drinkers. Nothing else is more appreciated than a gift made by loving hands.
Supplies needed:
Beer mugs (a set of six is ideal)
Chosen monogram (clip art is a great choice)
Pencil
Spray adhesive or strong glue
Stencil knife
Scissors
Ruler for accurate measuring
Gloves to protect hands
Goggles
Squeegee
Etching cream
Method
At your local hobby store or thrift stores, find mugs which have flat peripherals and chiseled facades on the bottom part. Mugs which have facades all over are not suitable as it will be not be able to display your monogram.
Next, get your clip art letter ready. Scan the clip art on your computer and use suitable software to either enlarge or make the design small, depending on how you want the design to turn out.
Once this is completed, use your pencil to illustrate a parallel line along the baseline of the letter. Use a ruler to guide you. Spot the letter’s middle point with a small dot.
Then, begin to incise the monogrammed clip art letter. Remember to draw a little border around each sides and the upper edge. Place a piece of long paper at the edge of the bottom.
Cut a small piece of adhesive, keeping in mind to use shelf paper that can cover the beer glass and big enough to swathe over the edges when the beer mug is rested on its side.
Place the beer mug on its side and stick on the shelf paper. Determine where the baseline is to be and draw a parallel line to mark the spot.
Cover the back of your letter paper using the adhesive and aerate for a while. Once dry, firmly depress the letter directly on the shelf paper. Adjust accordingly.
After eliminating the tab, cut out the monogrammed letter, using a stencil knife to incise around the letter’s inner and outer borders. Gently take out the paper.
Put some etching cream on the surface of the beer mug and use the squeegee to evenly disseminate a substantial coat of cream over the monogrammed letter. Use goggles as the scent from the etching cream can overwhelm the eyes.
Let dry for about 20 minutes. Use the squeegee to eliminate leftover etching cream. Using a mild detergent and tepid water, rinse the beer mug and remove the shelf paper from it.
Voila! You now have your very own, custom monogrammed beer vessel. Send these to your beer loving friends as birthday gifts. They will love you for this.

The Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany is the largest beer festival in the world. The legendary event attracts 6 million people from around the world and attracts attention from global media. The event lasts for 16 days during which visitors gobble classic German food such as sauerkraut, sausage, asparagus and grilled chicken, but at the center of attention is what Germany is known for: beer served in over-sized beer mugs like there was no tomorrow.
Over 1.5 million gallons of beer (or 5.7 million liters) is poured, drank and celebrated over in large classic German beer mugs. Sizes of 1 liter and above are not uncommon. The traditional image Americans have of Oktoberfest is Germans in “lederhosen” (leather pants) cheerfully swinging away on their beers to the sound of happy German marching bands. The Oktoberfest is not only one of the country’s largest, but also one of its most profitable tourist attractions.
Several other countries and states here in the USA are recreating the beer-loving event by starting their own Oktoberfest. Beer fest and beer culture made popular through recent Hollywood movies have increased the myth and legend around Oktoberfest.
Many Americans have picked up on the tradition and are inviting friends and family to Oktoberfest-weekends – a weeklong event running parallel with the Munich festival and a celebration of beer and German culture. The festival starts in September, a decision that was taken to allow for better climate, and ends the first Sunday in October.
To have your own authentic Oktoberfest at home you will need the following items for a true German ambience:
German beer – Look for stores that carry beer brewed according to Oktoberfest standards. These strict standards are called Reinheitsgebot and follow disciplines in place since 1516
Beer Mugs – preferably made from thick glass and with a steady handle. A traditional German beer mug should hold 1 liter (33 ounces) but you can also maintain a smaller selection for the guests less inclined to drink a whole liter
Pork Sausage – Insist on German quality sausage and avoid the Italian type breakfast sausage that is common in America. The Italian sausage has a sweeter taste, while the German sausage is heavier and has a spicier tone.
Grilled Chicken, Potato dumplings, Potato Salad, Sauerkraut and pretzels.
Desert is usually glazed European style gingerbread or ice cream.
Many German families here in the United States invite friends and family for the weekend and turn the event into a large sleep-over. The beer and the food are central. Loud music is essential and German folk-music combined with traditional hits from the 80’s, 90’s and the 00’s are fully compatible with your own Oktoberfest.
The one-liter beer mug and other forms of beer mugs can be found at major retailers and through online sources. Engraving the beer mug to commemorate the event is a great way to solidify your Oktoberfest as a yearly party-staple.

As common as forks and spoons, beer mugs actually date back to 10,000 BC, the Stone Age! Indeed, people from different parts of the world, from different civilizations have been drinking ever since long, long time ago. The Egyptians believed Osiris was the one who created beer, a gift and necessity of life. Babylon’s Code of Hammurabi not only mentioned alcohol, it was given a relatively high attention. The Babylonians even worshipped a wine goddess and offered wine and beer to their gods. Alike Babylonians, The Chinese offered their gods alcoholic beverages as well. In fact, they believed alcohol was prescribed by heaven. In a nutshell, alcoholic beverages were perceived as sacred beverages.
Now, let’s look at the society today. When someone mentions alcohol, what flashes into your mind? Well, the top of mind for most would be drink, drank, drunk and drunk. It seems that alcoholic beverages are not as sacred as they used to be anymore. Thus, pressure has been given to the alcohol industry. In some countries, publicity and advertising of alcoholic beverages are prohibited. These many restrictions are not placed for fun. There are sound reasons behind these acts such as excessive and underage drinking which are not only harmful to health but to the society as well, example, the rise of juvenile crimes. Marketing these beverages is now tougher and more challenging than ever as what is left is below the line marketing. Below the line marketing is where our dear beer mugs come in. Here, they play a splendid role as they are both useful as barware and promotional items. So, how to market beer mugs responsibly?
Well, there are few ways to look into. First of all, when you market your beer mugs for a certain brand to create brand awareness, engrave the mugs with creative wordings which encourage responsible drinking and discourage underage drinking. A copy writer could come in place to come up with a catchy tagline while a designer to design the placement of the words or even your beer mug. Though such custom made beer mugs would be costly in production, they would certainly stand out from the crowd, enhancing the beer company’s social responsibility image at the same time. Nowadays, consumers go for designers’ collections and items which are unique. Thus, such meaningful and useful beer mugs will certainly make it to the top. It is an investment worth investing in. Moreover, a great image and reputation is something money cannot buy.
Alternatively, beer marketers can come up with drinking awareness campaigns and contests. Get teenagers under 18 to participate. Their challenge would be to come up with beer mugs which discourage underage and excessive drinking. Participants would be rewarded. The winner gets to sign his or her signature on the beer mug which would be marketed world wide and probably be the campaign or brand ambassador. This is not only educational; it would be much cheaper than getting copywriters and designers in place or a celebrity to be your brand ambassador.
The ideas above are win-win solutions to market beer mugs responsibly. The public will be educated, beer companies’ brand images will be enhanced and revenue will be generated.

The original beer mug comes from Germany and was commonly called a beerstein, which is a German abbreviation for the word Stoneware jug or tankard. The beer mug is broadly considered the preferred drinking device for beer around the world. The difference is that a classic beer stein, is traditionally decorated and ornamented with artwork and comes in a jugular design handcrafted by precision beer stein makers. Common materials include clay or porcelain.
The largest beerstein in the world stands 4 feet tall and can hold 10.5 gallons of beer. At an incredible 66 pounds, it took over 10 weeks for the clay used in the beer stein to dry completely.
Little did you know that the beer stein was central in the development of beer that you drink today.
The beerstein was developed as a response to the diseases and plagues that were tormenting Europe through the middle ages. 25 million people died in Europe during the black plague and to battle severe sanitary issues, Germany implemented laws overseeing the conservation of food and beverage, including the demand that food and beverage storage containers must be covered.
The sanitation-friendly laws of Germany led to advances in the food and beverage industries. Beer deliveries were made in covered containers, the beer-stau (beer houses) business was booming and individuals were enjoying better tasting, less contaminated beer from their own, covered drinking vessels. It was customary to have your own beerstein with a covering lid.
The beerstein industry was a significant, union-driven employer and new materials, designs and artwork was continuously being developed to feed the market’s unquenchable thirst for beer delivery vessels. New materials were introduced, including the revolution of porcelain in the 1700’s.
While beersteins are impressive to look, the introduction of glass in the 1800’s paved way for the much more practical beer mug which is standard today The beer mug has with its cylindrical shape and steady handle was transitioned into becoming a beer-drinker’s favorite at Germany’s beer salons and became commonly used in the Americas during the 1800’s.
Today beer mugs are sold everywhere and can be found hundreds of thousands of designs. You can even get customized, personalized beer mugs with your own logo. You’d have to be royalty to get your own personalized beerstein back in the middle ages.
So when you are drinking beer out of a Beer Mug, you may want to consider the impact the mug has had on the beer itself. If it wasn’t for the implementation of laws that required beverage to be covered, the Germans wouldn’t have begun to develop beer and the quality of the beer to gradually become what it is today.

After wine and tea, beer is the most commonly drunk beverage in the world. Produced from grains, wheat and sometimes even rice or corn, beer is a beverage that appeals to many types and tastes in a wide range flavors.
Many beer drinkers take great pride in developing their own palette and choice of beers, and just like wine drinkers have their favorite regions, brands or styles. The explosion of micro-breweries in North American and the broadened availability of items such as wheat beer, stout, ale and pilsner have broadened Americans’ knowledge and appreciation for beer that is not mainstream.
The modern, educated beer drinkers will argue that beer shall be enjoyed from a beer mug and not directly from the bottle, which is often otherwise in the case in American culture. The American Beer Mug, which is a classic dating back to the Wild West, is broadly considered to bring out the beer’s qualities and taking it to its full capacity. Generally, a thick beer mug will also keep the temperature of the beer down – which is an important attribute since American beer-drinkers traditionally prefer their beers cold.
So just what does the beer mug add to the beer?
According to John Haglaund, a research scientist with the Carolina Institute of Food & Beverage, the beer flavor experience is a combination of oxidation (beer’s interaction with the environment it is in), the exposure to light (or lack thereof) and temperature.
The beer was developed to be enjoyed cold and hence a mug and material that is able to keep a temperature is the most ideal.
The beer is often poured directly from a dark bottle that protects it from destructive sun rays and light rays, or directly from the tap – as a result there is no need for a mug with colored glass, other than for fun.
The oxidation process begins immediately when a beer is poured into the beer mug which is why it is important to enjoy a beer within 30 minutes of pouring to appreciate the flavor that was intended at point of brewing and bottling.
The design of the sturdy, thick-glassed beer mug was not just accidental, but was optimized to maintain all the qualities from brewing and bottling. Elaborate tests conducted by Mr. Haglaund showed a more rapid decline of the beer’s flavor when poured into a regular glass. The test further concluded that the thick bottom allowed the carbon dioxide that causes the bubbles in the beer to prevail by up 20% longer than in a traditional glass. According to the test, a thinner, regular glass will eliminate carbon dioxide by its more rapid loss of temperature.
So when you are enjoying a beer, ale, pilsner or stout – go for a high quality Beer Mug – it will make your beer taste better and last longer

When you want to give your customers a great gift, you need to give them something like beer mugs. Beer glasses, sometimes called beer steins, are wonderful products that you can give to your customers to show them that you appreciate their business. It is a great way to get loyal customers and it is a very good way to gain more customers. People like free things and while you can give customers pens, why not go the extra mile with beer mugs?
The beer mug, or stein, is made out of many different materials. Traditionally, they were made out of stoneware and many ornamental beer mugs are still made out of stoneware. These days, mugs can be made out of other items like pewter, earthenware, porcelain, silver, wood and crystal glass. Some even come with lids on top that protect your beer from having something fall in it. This comes from the time of the Black Plague, when people wanted to protect their drinks from having diseased flies fall into their drink.
The size of mugs can vary as well, from half a liter to a full liter, but you can get even larger and come in the size of tankards. These large beer steins are often highly decorated in the style of the old mugs from Germany.
The word for the beer mug, stein, comes from the German word for stoneware.
Since the 1892 Oktoberfest, most mugs come in the style of glass because they are hygienic and more attractive for many beer drinkers. So, these days you will typically find the mugs being made of glass and they do not have lids unless they are being made in a decorative or luxury version. The larger beer mugs that push beyond one liter are common during Oktoberfest in the beer gardens of festivities around the world. These mugs are known for being very robust and strong, while at the same time a bit heavy.
Beer vessels are great gifts for your customers and make sure you spend the money to give your customers personalized mugs done right. Your customers will appreciate it, and that will give you more business in the long run. This helps keep your company viable and profitable for many years to come. This is why your marketing plan needs to include promotional items like beer guns.
